How it all began…
The senior team at The Fostering Foundation have a combined experience of over 70 years within the fostering community. Geoff and Jim founded the Fostering Foundation in 2000, Jim has now retired but Geoff was joined by Gina as Registered Manager in 2018 and Sherree as Service Manager, who together completed the senior management team, in 2019.
In addition to ensuring all the vitally important, compliance issues are met, they are there to support the teams. Their wealth of knowledge enables them to assist with any fostering question and also guide social workers and new foster families through any hurdles they might need to overcome.
A message from our Registered Manager:
“I have been in social work since 1986, initially working in child protection within the local authority. In 1995 I took up a post as a Fostering and Adoption Social Worker, and since that time these areas have been my specialism. I have had the opportunity to work at a senior management level with the ability to shape and develop services, which is probably one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
“I joined the Fostering Foundation in October 2018, having been drawn to its commitment to carer and children’s welfare, stability of long term placements and investment in training and support. Although the Foundation is a relatively small agency it prides itself on the quality of training and development for staff and carers and the positive impact that has on the children we care for.
“Listening to foster carers and the children they care for and including their views and experience in any plans for the Fostering Foundation is for me a crucial element of my role and one that I value a great deal.”
