The Bristol office of The Fostering Foundation is a small, welcoming, friendly fostering team of foster carers, social workers, administrators, therapists and support staff.
They offer outstanding support to foster carers and children, from support groups for adults, sons and daughters and fostered children, from basic to more advanced training, to out of hours support and support workers.
The aim of the entire team is to support you in making a positive difference to a child’s life, whether they are placed with you in the short term and return home to their families or for the long term when they become a part of your family’s future.
Our team in Bristol cover an area as far west as Swindon, then head North to the edges of the Forest of Dean, south towards Yeovil and west to North Devon. The focus is always on ensuring the correct placement for the carer and, of course, the young person(s).
Our team have created helpful guides to enable children and young people understand who we are at Fostering Foundation and how we are here to support them in every step of their journey.
You can download the guides from the buttons below.
Who we are and what we do
If this is your local office you will enjoy the support of the entire team as you take your first steps into becoming a foster carer household or if you an experienced hand looking to transfer to The Fostering Foundation.
We have a dedicated set of events and activities that make certain all of our foster families have a considerable support network – way beyond the staff of The Fostering Foundation.
In the Bristol office we train all our staff and foster carers in attachment theory and support them to use the principles of PACE to therapeutically re-parent the children we care for.
PACE stands for playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy; a proven model of working with children who have experienced rejection and poor parenting in their lives.
