What I like best about my job:
There are too many best bits! Visiting potential fostering families to the foundation, spending quality time with them getting to know the whole family and welcoming them into our small friendly team. Spending time with all our young people and children and helping them to achieve their full potential.
What are your interests/hobbies?
Reading, walking on the moors, swimming, colouring, and being a taxi service to my teenage daughter!
The most rewarding aspect of your job?
When our foster families are matched with a child/young person, being part of the start of the process is heart-melting, when it all fits so well.
Nicest compliment given by a foster carer?
Thank you for listening and understanding how our family works, so glad we found Fostering Foundation, we feel so valued.
Something people may be surprised about you?
When I was a teenager in London in the 80’s, I grew up with Boy George and his family as friends I learnt a lot!
What makes the ideal foster carer household?
Caring, loving, nurturing, understanding of the difficulties our young people face in today’s ever-changing society. A good support network filled with love and comfort.
