Do you have any pets?

I have a five-year old rescue boxer, so love long dog walks and meeting other dogs and their owners.

What makes the ideal foster carer household?

I don’t believe there is an ideal foster carer household. If you and your family have the space and time to commit to another young person and feel you could offer a loving home to someone, then fostering could be for you !!

What words of advice would you give to anyone considering becoming a foster carer?

My words of advice are, be patient and take one day at a time. All young people try their best to get things right, they just need more of our help to get there.

Do you have a connection to fostering – other than working in this field?

I have been a carer for 30 years this year and have learnt so much from all the young people who have lived with me. Fostering is challenging and hard work but it has been the best thing I have ever done !!
