Experience:
Lorraine and John have both worked with young people within the community including youth work and prison support. They reside in Plymouth close to the city centre, but also within easy reach of both the coast and the countryside. They have recently completed renovation work on their property which has been specifically designed to enable young people to be supported in a warm and loving environment. They have undergone extensive training in child protection, domestic violence and positive behaviour support.
Carers; Penny and Ian
Approval: 1 - 3 children 0 to 18 years either gender, long term, short term and respite
Experience:
Penny and Ian are carers with over 15 years experience having cared for over 50 children. They have returned to fostering following a short break whilst renovating their home in Cornwall. They are now ready to commit to a long term placement and are looking for a sibling group of up to 3 children. The house is in the enviable position of being both close to the countryside and the beaches of Cornwall - whilst having easy access to good leisure, medical and educational facilities in Truro.
Carers Jane and Roland
Approval 1 child either gender - 6 to 12 years long term, short term or respite
Experience:
Jane and Roland are newly approved foster carers with Jane working in a local school and Roland being a chef. They have 2 teenage children and reside close to Dartmoor National Park. They have boundless energy and an enthusiasm for young people to succeed and live fulfilling lives.
Carers Paula & Nigel
Approval: 1 - 3 children 5 to 18 years either gender, long, short or respite
Experience:
Paula and Nigel have a wealth of experience in caring for both their own children and LAC. They live in modern farmhouse - close to lots of amenities as well as being in the countryside not far from the Cornish coastline. They have attended extensive training courses including domestic violence awareness, attachment difficulties and child protection.
Carers Barbara & Barry
Approval: 1 child,6 to 12 years either gender, long, short or respite
Experience:
Barbara and Barry have lots of child care experience between them with their 5 birth children and recently provided a short term placement with a young 12 year with complex mental health problems manifesting in OCD tendencies, inappropriate sexualisation and attachment problems. The have attended extensive training courses and have immediate availability.
