About us

Staff at The Fostering Foundation have many years' experience in social work and the caring professions in general. The Foundation was formed to meet the needs of children and young people in Local Authority care, where outside help was needed in finding these children a suitable foster home. We are organised on a regional basis. Click on the left to learn more about our regional organisations.

Working With Local Authorities

We work with Local Authorities across the country to match the particular needs of a child requiring a foster home with the foster carer that is best suited to meet the child’s needs.

Support From The Fostering Foundation

When you foster with us, you’ll have direct access to a Field Manager, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Fostering Foundation Field Managers are responsible for a maximum of 12 foster carers and give day-to-day support through regular contact with you. They report to their Regional Director who is responsible for the operation of The Fostering Foundation in that region.
Your Field Manager coordinates the implementation of the care plan for the child in your care. This plan is put together by the Local Authority and is regularly reviewed. We arrange as positive an introduction as possible between carer and child and help make the conclusion of the placement as smooth as we can.

Checks And Training

The Fostering Foundation carries out relevant checks on all carers and employees to make sure that only suitable people can become foster carers. We then provide you with training programmes and organise support groups where you can meet other carers, in formal and informal settings.
We are proud of our professionalism and we give your training and support  the highest priority.
